We put the kids to bed at 7 (mostly to play until 8 or 8:30 but UPSTAIRS out of our way). Then we sometimes order out food but normally we snack in front of the tube watching our guilty pleasures tv shows from 8-10, then we facebook and talk until too late and then do it all over again the next week. It is really one of the only times we get to "be together" and it has been HARD to train the kids to leave us alone. Also, we REALLY utilize weekend quiet times when all kids have to be in their rooms sleeping or playing quietly for 90 minutes. It gives us a breather too. Mark and I just found out how much we enjoy big puzzles, but we have also listened to pod casts, enjoyed IPTV, read newspaper articles, looked through Sports Illistrated and sometimes if we are frisky....mommy daddy bath night! Oh, don't forget to kiss each other often throughout the day. That helps just to reconnect on a little level! Have fun!Mark and Valerie Brandthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15301547566890252652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33516940.post-31902499887372210292011-01-21T19:45:39.441-06:002011-01-21T19:45:39.441-06:00TV in the bedroom isn't a good thing, accordin...TV in the bedroom isn't a good thing, according to "someone" - LOL! I can't remember where I read that, but I've heard it many times. I like the idea of having a date night at home. I wasn't good at connecting with Neil so I won't give any advice ;)Terihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01159658982986918543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33516940.post-8650492414702077462011-01-21T19:02:26.399-06:002011-01-21T19:02:26.399-06:00I can relate to how you are feeling. Oh and we throw in some kind of decadent dessert. You can get off your diet for one little yummy piece of chocolate. Anyway, it's not always that perfect. IT doesn't happen every weekend but we try. Oh we took the t.v out of our bedroom too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33516940.post-451347930268686502011-01-19T15:34:54.122-06:002011-01-19T15:34:54.122-06:00My husband and I have a date night in every Friday...My husband and I have a date night in every Friday night. We feed the kids and put them down a little early (around 7) and then enjoy our night. We eat dinner together, usually take out, and bask in the moment of no kids around. Then we do some kind of activity. We've done movies, board games, wine and beer tasting, massages etc. We take turns planning so it gives us something to look forward to at the end of the week. It's a very simple thing, but with 3 kids under 3 we don't have enough money or babysitters to go out all the time. I thought this was a silly idea that would last a month or two, but we've been doing it for over a year now.<br />www.twinglemommmy.blogspot.comTwingle Mommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12907505775593685411noreply@blogger.com
